TruckTax Introduces On-Line Driver Trip Reporting System, to Simplify and automate the IFTA Fuel Tax process for the Trucking Industry.

TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA - - November. 6, 2006 TruckTax, a leading edge provider of On-Line Bookkeeping and tax reporting service for Independent Truckers, today announces the introduction of it’s On-Line Driver Trip Reporting System,.

This  Internet based system will simplify and reduce the time and costs required by truckers and trucking companies to manage the IFTA fuel tax compliance and reporting process.  With this online trip reporting system, drivers will be able to file trip reports from anywhere, anytime, from a computer with internet access.

This online system will reduce the paper-handling task of processing hand-written driver trip reports by company staff.  This system will also eliminate the in-house data entry task and reduce the time required by staff to process trip reports into IFTA fuel tax ready data and tax reports for filing.

Also simplified is the challenging driver trip miles data collection tasks, by the creation of an Onboard Trip Data Capture form.  With this form, drivers would simply write the state/province abbreviation at each state/province exit and the last three digits of the odometer reading or the total miles/kilometers.

Using this form requires very little distraction from the driver’s focus, yet, it will increase the accuracy of the reporting data captured by drivers.

At the end of each trip leg, trip end or trip destination, the driver would simply log-on to the Internet, go to www.trucktaxplus.com, login with their company assigned ID# and password and proceed to enter the trip miles/kilometers from the Onboard Trip Data Capture form or scratch pad, enter fuel purchased from the actual receipt and click submit.

For audit verification and data integrity management, the system will pop-up a box and issue the driver a unique data submit confirmation number with document and records retention management instructions.

Charles Chambers, Vice President of TruckTax, says that in addition to the time and costs savings, the system will deliver productivity improvement benefits to truckers and trucking companies, simplify the IFTA/IRP audit process, and reduce potential tax audit penalties.
