The Company History

TRUCKTAX™ is a bookkeeping and Tax services company, providing bookkeeping and tax preparation services to independent truckers across Canada.

In addition, the company provides IFTA Fuel Tax processing and support services to our bookkeeping service clients to allow them to work with one service provider for all bookkeeping and tax related requirements.

TRUCKTAX™ was founded in 2002 and have focused on the development of its unique service system, financial reports deliverables, streamlined procedures and a respectable client base and industry visibility.

This has created a demand for TRUCKTAX™ to expand to meet the needs of truckers across Canada and the United States.

However, expanding with branch offices would create a facility, service and sales management nightmare. So in 2006, the company began the development of our unique Franchise system to extend its reach and provide its services to independent truckers in cities across Canada through a network of Franchisees.

TRUCKTAX™ provides its Franchisees with a dependable centralized back-office bookkeeping and tax preparation support system, that enables Franchisees to focus on building their client base and sustainable income and profit stream without having to hire any bookkeeping support employees or having to do any of the bookkeeping or tax preparation work.

Under this centralized bookkeeping system, TRUCKTAX™ does all of the required bookkeeping and tax preparation work for the Franchisees clients, leaving the Franchisee free to get more clients and build professional customer relations with their clients.

The Founder's Experience:

The founder Ron Johnson, has had over 30 years of combined experience providing bookkeeping and tax reporting services to independent truckers across Canada and the U.S. including IFTA and Fuel Tax reporting service. 

Prior to founding Trucktax in 2002, Ron was the founder and president of a successful truckers bookkeeping business he founded in Toronto in 1979, which he built and sold in 1987 to focus on building a Fuel Tax outsourcing service business with an offshore back-office before outsourcing was a buzz-word.

The offshore IFTA fuel tax company was sold in 2000 and Ron began planning the Trucktax business.  A business he decided would tap available technology to provide bookkeeping and tax services to independent truckers in an atmosphere of convenience to where possible, to look and fee like the work is being done from within the home of the Trucker.

By January 2002 Ron was ready and Trucktax was launched as a federally incorporated company to address the business plan goals to serve clients across Canada.
